Cinque Ports Veterinary Associates have a long history of dealing with bloodstock and equine insurance matters predominantly through Nick Mills, but also through Howard Newitt who has over 10 years insurance experience. Howard will continue to offer the services to brokers and underwriters that Nick had developed and which had proved so popular.

PROFILE

Equine Insurance Consultant Howard Newitt MRCVS holds a post graduate certificate in equine practice and is a partner at Cinque Ports Veterinary Associates. He has been qualified 14 years, and for the last 10 years Howard has provided expertise on numerous equine insurance cases, working in partnership with “The Maestro” Nick Mills MRCVS.

Howard’s day to day horse work includes a challenging mix of cases and clients. His clients vary from racing yards, studs, multiple international riders, and of course last but not least the happy hacker.

Howard has a keen interest in current equine veterinary developments. Annually he attends a variety of conferences. This is important as insurance work requires someone who is thoroughly up to date with developments in the equine veterinary world.

As you would expect Howard has an excellent general knowledge of treatments for a wide range of conditions. This is essential in making the correct recommendations for you.

As someone who runs his own business Howard is very conscious of the need to be commercially minded ensuring minimal financial loss yet equally sensitive to ensuring longevity in the client relationship.


Howard’s current expertise in equine insurance work, in practice case load and independence of veterinary hospital gives you an ideal mix of experience to advise wisely on your equine insurance cases.


Howard is an FEI vet in both eventing and reining and a member of the Association of Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons & British Equine Veterinary Association.
